My family and most of my friends know that September 1, 2010, I severely broke my leg just outside Big Timber, Montana. After major surgery to literally screw it back together, we stayed at the Billings KOA, the world's first KOA campground, for a few weeks before heading back home.

Staying there for a few days this year gave me the opportunity to explore the park for myself, although disappointingly, some beautiful large trees had been cut down and deer didn't come by to graze every night. Things can change even in 3 years.

The park runs parallel with the Yellowstone River, so many of the photos are of the river from the edge of the park.

The house in the background of the park sign belongs to the owner.
