After nine days traveling and sightseeing across the country, we arrived in Milwaukee Saturday afternoon, June 19th. The next day was my granddaughter, Deanna's 20th birthday, her son's baptism, and Father's Day! We celebrated all three occasions with a large gathering after the baptism.

In the picture on the left are the proud parents, Deanna and Louie with Angel. The picture on the right is great-grandma Jean, Fred, and Angel after the baptism.

Devil's Lake, Baraboo, Wisconsin
Wisconsin is a beautiful and very green (in the summer!) state with many lakes, woods, and parks to see. One such beautiful lake we visited for an afternoon is Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo. The lake is surrounded by 500 foot high wooded cliffs that are a challenge to climb (at least for someone with bad knees!). The picture to the right is from part-way up the cliffs. We were fortunate to have chosen a warm, sunny day for the trip because rain started to follow us in St. Louis!

Kettle Moraine State Forest
Wisconsin has two areas of Kettle Moraine State Forest: the Northern Unit and the Southern Unit. These areas were formed by glaciers thousands of years ago that left behind beautiful rock formations and lakes. On July 2, we went to Kettle Moraine State Forest, Northern Unit and walked a part of the New Fane Loop trail.

The photo to the left is on the trail.

Before we left Milwaukee on July 5, we went to dinner with Jacquie, the grandkids, and their fiances.
